This statement is being released to our Residents, their families, our Team Members,
Board Members, Stakeholders including our Town Council and CAO, SHSS Leadership, and Emergency Services.

Recently we were informed that the mandate from the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer is also applicable to “Supportive Housing facilities or units such as the 2nd floor on the NCU Manor.

We will be delivering their meals to them and our other services will be continued. We will also have our Recreation Coordinator spend additional time with these Residents.

The following was sent out to the families of our residents in the NCU Manor by our Client Services Manager.

2nd Floor Residents
SUPPORTIVE HOUSING WILL BE ON LOCKDOWN AS OF THURSDAY MARCH 20, 2020.

  • All residents living on this floor will not be allowed to leave the floor.
  • All meals will be delivered to the suites starting at Breakfast on Thursday March 20.
  • NO visitors unless it is an emergency situation. We ask you have ONE immediate caregiver in place.

Assisted Living 1st and 3rd Floors

  • Limit ONE visitor at a time. Immediate caregiver should be in place. These
    guidelines may change daily.
  • Assisted Living residents to go to the café for their meals until further notice.

General

  • There will be NO outside activities allowed such as
    • Church services in the PCH, Church of the Rock, All recreational
      programming with outside groups have been cancelled.
  • Manor Family room bookings will be CANCELLED until further notice. If you have
    made a booking for March, it has been cancelled.
  • There will be NO visitors allowed in the café until further notice.
  • Manor Recreation has cancelled all large group activities. 1 on 1 visits will continue as well as small groups of 4 or less.
  • All pudding, jellos, salad etc has been individually wrapped in the café. Fresh fruit has been placed behind the café counter, ask if you would like fresh fruit.

These are cautionary measures that we feel are best for the Niverville Heritage Centre and NCU Manor at this time. Updates will likely come daily. Please be patient while we navigate this new situation. Thank you in advance for following the guidelines above.

We realize that there are family members that will be caught off guard and we apologize but we were not expecting that the Lockdown Mandate impacting some the residents in the Manor.

As noted before things are changing so very quickly world-wide, across Canada and within the Province of Manitoba. We will keep you informed as we can but again ask for patience if these changes happen too quickly or for changes you personally feel we should have happened already.
