HCT Cook Supervisor
Hespeler’s is a locally loved restaurant known for our delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to excellence. Do you have a passion for culinary arts and the leadership skills to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen? Our mission is to create memorable dining experiences for every guest, and we need a skilled Cook Supervisor to help lead the charge in our kitchen for Hespeler’s Cookhouse and Tavern. This position is full-time with a flexible schedule.
What you’ll be doing:
• Assist the Head Chef in daily operations, ensuring seamless teamwork and high-quality results.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Prepare, cook, and plate meals as indicated on menus.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency to maintain our high standards.
• Train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team to achieve their best.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Manage inventory and oversee food preparation schedules.
• Collaborate with management to refine recipes, develop menus, and minimize waste.
• Ensures the sanitary handling of dishes, food, equipment and cleanliness of related work areas.
• Attends and participates in department and site meetings and/or in‐services as appropriate.
• Communicates effectively and fosters a positive working environment as a member of the team.
• Works harmoniously within the team and collaborates with other departments of the Campus and service providers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
• Minimum 3 year’s experience working in a commercial or institutional kitchen.
• Certification from a recognized Food Handlers Training Course.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Mental and physical health to meet demands of position.
• Passion for food and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Able to follow direction from multiple individuals.

Line Cook
We are seeking part-time evening and weekend Line Cooks to provide excellent dining and guest experience in Hespeler’s Cookhouse & Tavern. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills with previous cooking experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen.
What you’ll be doing:
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food.
• Stock inventory appropriately.
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
• Receives and checks food and supply deliveries and ensure they are stored appropriately.
• Ensures the sanitary handling of dishes, food, equipment and cleanliness of related work areas.
• Attends and participates in department and site meetings and/or in‐services as appropriate.
• Communicates effectively and fosters a positive working environment as a member of the team.
• Works harmoniously within the team and collaborates with other departments of the Campus and service providers
• Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety in accordance with the established regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
• Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or equivalent Food Sanitation course
• Experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen an asset.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Mental and physical health to meet demands of position.

Health Care Aide
Heritage Life Personal Care Home is hiring for the position of Health Care Aide. HCA’s provide support and assistance to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as identified in the care plan.

Recreation Aide
The Recreation Worker assist in the development and the implementation of programs/events to meet the physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs of the residents in collaboration with other teams/individuals. Conducts programs with assigned groups of residents as per the Recreation Department schedule, including large and small groups and individual resident assignment.
Qualifications:
Required
1. Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults Certificate or Recreation Studies Degree or other applicable studies. Consideration may be given to employees who are willing to enroll in and complete the above.
2. The ability to work independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
3. The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
4. The mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position.
5. Possess excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
To participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, modification and
Documentation of activity programs by:
• Providing therapeutic recreation programming and the documentation of this for all residents with the goal of attaining or maintaining optimum independence and quality of life.
• Ensuring resident programming is diverse and meets the needs of the residents.
• Ensuring Residents are assessed on admission and on an ongoing basis and recreation care plans are developed to meet the assessed needs.
• Identifying a therapy plan and goals and communicating these to members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Providing relevant information for Resident Care Conferences.
• Ensuring on-going analysis of Resident’s progress towards identified goals.
• Ensuring documentation of pertinent information as it relates to the delivery of Recreation Therapy.
• Utilizing established Recreation Therapy standards and maintaining Manitoba Health Standards, legislative requirements and facility policy and procedures in the provision of safe, competent and ethical care
• Utilizing the Leisure Competency Management Tool in the Leisure and Recreation
Assessment of the Resident.
• Promoting Residents’ participation, choice and control in meeting their needs.
To be knowledgeable of and work within the Resident Bill of Rights, Mission, Vision and Values of
Heritage Life PCH.
To participate on committees and attend meetings as required.
