Server

We are seeking a skilled and motivated server to join our team. The position is for evenings and weekends. You will be responsible for providing efficient, courteous, and professional service to all guests. You will serve as the face of the restaurant, ensuring that each guest’s experience exceeds expectations from the moment they are seated until they depart. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Greeting customers upon arrival and assigning a table.
• Engaging with customers and problem solving as needed to meet their needs to create a memorable dining experience.
• Taking orders for beverages.
• Processing orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of menu, food & bar, daily specials, seasonal, etc.
• Carrying food and drinks from kitchen and bar area to tables/customers
• Setting up tables between customers including bussing and cleaning.
• Other cleaning duties as required.
• Processing payments electronically, handling cash and daily cash outs.

What you’ll need:
• Serving experience an asset.
• High School Diploma
• Smart Choices Certificate
• Available evenings and weekends.
• Experience with POS systems.
• Able to maintain regular work attendance.
• Experience in customer service & hospitality industry.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment which includes balancing competing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Restaurant Supervisor

We are seeking a supervisor with strong leadership and communication skills to assist oversee the operations of Hespeler’s Cookhouse & Tavern(HCT). The candidate will possess, among other qualifications, experience working in a restaurant environment, a background in hospitality and customer service, and a genuine passion for serving the community.

What you’ll be doing:

• Responsible for operations of the Hespeler’s Cookhouse & Tavern which include scheduling, inventory, maintain the team of servers, bartenders and all front of house staff.
• Support the Restaurant & Events Manager in planning, ordering, advertising including social media.
• Maintain a friendly and professional relationship with all team members and customers.
• Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns.
• Work collaboratively with Food Services team which includes the Restaurant and Events Manager, Kitchen Manager and Food Services Manager to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Managing operational and administrative tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time.
• Provides creative ideas to generate business including research and participates in strategic planning.
• Provides leadership, recruits, and mentors team members.
• Actively recruit new business for HCT.
• Will be available to work various shifts: days, evenings, and weekends.

What you’ll need:
• A degree or certificate in a relevant field such as hospitality, food service industry.

• Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to coordinate with different vendors and staff.
• Combination of relevant work experience and education will be considered.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and good time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.

Health Care Aide

Heritage Life Personal Care Home is hiring for the position of Health Care Aide. HCA’s provide support and assistance to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as identified in the care plan.

Dietary Aid/Cook

We are seeking a part-time Cook & Dietary Aid to provide excellent dining and resident experience for the NCU Manor, the assisted living and supportive housing. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills with previous cook experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen and available to work 2 to 3-day shifts per week including weekends.

What you’ll be doing:

• Prepares all meals as indicated on menus in accordance with production schedules, standard recipes, and safe food handling procedures.
• Setting up dining areas before meals which includes but not limited to cleaning up dishes and cutlery including tables and meal service areas and related equipment, e.g. Steam table.
• Ensures proper portion control and estimates quantities of food needed to meet menu requirements.
• Cleaning dishes and pots including kitchen area.
• Serving of food and beverages such as but not limited to sets up meal trays; transporting food to dining rooms; serving meals and beverages; meeting residents needs by responding to requests.
• Receives, records, and communicates all diet requisitions and changes as assigned
• Inspects and/or tastes food for quality.
• Prepares meals in accordance with therapeutic and texture modified diets.
• Receives and checks food and supply deliveries and ensure they are stored appropriately.
• Ensures the sanitary handling of dishes, food, equipment and cleanliness of related work areas.
• Communicates effectively and fosters a positive working environment as a member of the team.
• Works harmoniously within the team and collaborates with other departments of the Campus and service providers
• Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety in accordance with the established regulations.
• Available part-time, 2 to 3 day shifts per week including weekends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:
• Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or equivalent Food Sanitation course

• Experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen an asset.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Mental and physical health to meet demands of position.
• Able to follow direction from multiple individuals.
