Dietary Aide

We are seeking part-time Dietary aide to assist in the service of resident meals and nourishments. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills with previous experience in food services.

We are seeking part-time Dietary aide to assist in the service of resident meals and nourishments. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills with previous experience in food services.

What you’ll be doing:
• Setting up dining areas before meals which includes but not limited to cleaning up
dishes and cutlery including tables and meal service areas and related equipment, e.g. Steam table.
• Serving of food and beverages such as but not limited to sets up meal trays; transporting food to dining rooms; serving meals and beverages; meeting residents needs by responding to requests.
• Cleaning dishes and pots including kitchen area.
• Maintains a high level of cleanliness and sanitation within the dining room(s) and kitchen by following scheduled cleaning routines and cleaning guidelines for equipment.
• Ensure current knowledge of Elder/Tenant diets, likes and dislikes and any other dietetic requirements.
• Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner and maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
• Ability to work day shifts.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:
• Grade 12 Education or equivalent
• Previous work experience in food services or hospitality an asset
• Current Food Handler Training Certificate or equivalent Food Sanitation course
• Some work experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen desirable
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
• Mental and physical health to meet demands of position.
• Able to follow direction from multiple individuals.

Health Care Aide

Heritage Life Personal Care Home is hiring for the position of Health Care Aide. HCA’s provide support and assistance to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as identified in the care plan.

Staffing Clerk

We are seeking an organized and professional staffing clerk to support the administration team in the Personal Care Home. This position is for 64 hours biweekly. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills with previous experience in the health care environment and as a staff scheduler.

and guests and visitors come together in our Events Centre and other venues, such as the
Hespeler’s Cookhouse and Tavern.

Responsibilities:
• Identifies pre-scheduled staff replacement needs and makes requests for the relevant
departments and unit, including filling day to day staffing requirements as requested by the
appropriate manager/delegate and provides alternative solutions to staffing issues.
• Posts available shifts within the relevant department on a pre-scheduled basis as per
organizational policies and collective agreement requirements.
• Ensures that availability lists are transferred to appropriate schedules prior to posting.
• Contacts individual staff for unfilled shifts, ensuring cost effective replacement as well as
collective agreement compliance.
• Responds to inquiries from staff regarding scheduling issues via phone, e-mail or personal
meetings.
• Process payroll, enters new team member demographics and updates scheduling as
positions are filled.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Grade 12 Education or Equivalent
• Working knowledge of Collective Agreements and of a computerized staff scheduling
system
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a staff scheduler
• Experience in a health care environment an asset.
• Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Efficient organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize workloads using effective time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and responsive to change.
• Ability to maintain detailed and focused accuracy given complexity of Electronic Scheduling
Program (ESP experience) and payroll processes.
