This statement is being released to our Residents, their families, our Team Members,
Board Members, Stakeholders including our Town Council and CAO, SHSS Leadership, and Emergency Services.

Based on the criteria forwarded to us regarding the passing of gifts, packages, mail etc. to Residents we are enforcing the following for both Heritage Life PCH and NCU Manor.

All items delivered by family/visitor to a health-care facility should be:

  • In unopened/sealed packages that allow for the surface to be appropriately cleaned and disinfected, with a facility approved disinfectant, upon arrival,
  • All items delivered, such as toys and electronic games should be appropriately cleaned and disinfected upon receiving at the site entrance and prior to removing from entrance of the facility
    • If unable to appropriately clean and disinfect on arrival then items are not accepted (i.e., plants, flowers, cards, stuffed animals).
      • Consult IPC where specific consideration required (e.g.,palliative/end of life exceptions) o Dedicated to the intended patient only.
    • Groceries cannot be delivered to the office unless they are in sealed pre-packaged self-contained units that can be disinfected without impacting the product inside.
    • Fresh fruits and vegetables and baked goods cannot be accepted.
  • In the case of mail, only mail received through Canada Post or a Courier Service will be received. It will be held for 24 hours and then passed on to the Resident.

All items delivered by family/visitor to a health-care facility should be:

  1. Heritage Life PCH – Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  2. NCU Manor – Monday to Friday 10:00 AM to 12 Noon and 1 PM to 2:00 PM.

As noted before things are changing so very quickly across Canada and within the Province of Manitoba. We will keep you informed as we can through our Website but again ask for patience if these changes happen too quickly or for changes you personally feel we should have implemented already.
